DISCOVERY DAY

I commissioned Dave to run a Discovery Day with a newly established leadership team in order to air issues and initiate a longer term team development programme.

Few of the issues had been openly discussed prior to the Discovery Day. It turned out to be a good opportunity for people to express issues and concerns and to establish a comfortable environment to start working on them.

What’s come out so far is really good. I can see positive differences already, and I am committed to build on this in the leadership team development programme that the team is looking forward to starting in the next few weeks.

We have been on this project for over four years and have done really well to get this far though we had a real challenge to get it over the line. Some of our team were tired, tensions had crept in and morale was slipping. We had tried everything to lift and reenergise the team though it was proving hard.

The Discovery Day was the start of getting the team back on track; trust, collaboration and the team energy is back up and we are getting there. I would recommend the Discovery Day to teams with a similar challenge or that want to get started with developing effective team working or collaboration.
