How can you tell a good or a bad leader?
At the bad extreme, ineffective leaders create work environments characterized by confusion, conflict, fear, dissatisfaction and fatigue.
Such environments lose talent, fail to achieve desired results, and create bad experiences for customers.
At the other extreme, effective leaders create environments marked by pride, satisfaction and personal growth. They inspire people, challenge them, and reward them. They produce good results and customers admire them.
Most of us fall somewhere in the middle of this spectrum, and go through patches, sometimes tending toward the good end, and other times toward the bad end.
What’s important to remember is that the good end is attainable and the bad end is avoidable.
Also, we can start tending toward the good end immediately, and the benefits will be felt right away.
