Celebrating 13 years in business

Today I am celebrating 13 years running and growing my own business, DSA Building Performance Ltd.

Reflecting back these are my top 5 most enjoyable achievements:

5 – Working with Tony Blanch, Costain’s Group Business Improvement Director and his team for six years on their “hugely successful” Implementing Best Practice programme and then a few years later seeing Costain win UK Contractor of the Decade Award. And for my companies contribution being short listed in their 2011 Achieving Excellence Awards as Supply Chain Partner of the Year.

4 – Working with Seamus Keogh and the Main Board of Clancy Docwra for 3 years helping them transform their business and then a year later seeing them win UK Civil Engineering Contractor of the Year Award

3 – Delivering the key note speech on collaboration at the 2003 National Construction Conference, Santiago, Chile.

2 – Developing and road testing over a 15 year period our CollaborateStart2Finish™ process for establishing and sustaining collaboration and over that period helping many teams deliver extra-ordinary results.

1 – Doing all the above and much more in balance. Spending loads of time with my soul mate and wife Sue, seeing my two sons all the way though their teens and enjoying a fantastic relationship with both of them, improving my all round fitness and having some time left over to do some work!

Thinking about the future this is what I am most excited about:

1 – Supporting Sue in her new business www.upandcomingart.co.uk cos she has tirelessly supported me over the last 13 years and it’s a great business.

2 – Improving as a coach so I become increasingly useful and effective.

3 – Nurturing my connections and relationships in this incredibly connected world.

4 – Working with Luis Amorim, MD and his BamFerrovialKier Crossrail lead team helping them create a world class joint venture – recently featured on BBC2’s The Fifteen Billion Pound Railway programme.

5 – Working with Alan Kay, CEO and Nick Snell, Design Director and their lead team helping them establish and sustain collaboration across the ABC (Alstom, Babcock, Costain) Joint Venture to innovatively deliver their £1bn plus part of the National Electrification Programme for Network Rail

Bring it on and let me at it!!
